About The Barn Board

Once upon a time, my daughter, Anastasia, was all about competitive swimming, living and breathing the pool life. But in 2017, she decided to swap her swimsuit and goggles for a riding helmet and breeches. It all started when I nudged her to try a horse riding summer camp back in 2016, and just like that, she fell head over heels for horses.

Fast forward to 2024, and she’s now a proud horse mama to an OTTB (Off The Track Thoroughbred) named Zarah, who joined our family in February 2020—right before the world went topsy-turvy with the pandemic. Zarah became her rock during those tough times. While swimming competitions came to a screeching halt, she could still head up to the barn to care for and ride Zarah, keeping her grounded and happy.

Along the way, we learned a ton about being horse owners. But man, finding the right boarding barns, riding lessons, coaches, farriers, affordable vets, and all those horse products was a real headache! We joined a bunch of equestrian Facebook groups to connect and find what we needed, but it was such a pain—keeping track of posts, comments, and messages was a never-ending struggle.

By day, I’m a lead generation digital marketing expert. I help small businesses drum up leads and turn them into sales. Right now, I’m the head of marketing and operations for a bustling mortgage brokerage in Etobicoke. 

Combining our horse adventures with my marketing know-how, The Barn Board was born—a solid solution for the equine community.
