Equine Guelph is the horse owner’s Centre at the University of Guelph, supported and overseen by equine industry groups, and dedicated to improving the health and well-being of horses.
Students ages 18 to 80 from over 40 countries have taken courses available through Equine Guelph’s online learning portal, since 2003.
In addition to certificate and diploma programs and special interest courses, taught by industry experts, Equine Guelph offers a wide range of programs and resources for the horse industry from grass-roots to professionals.
EquiMania! is a program geared toward helping school-aged children discover their passion for horses.
The Large Animal Rescue Program is a hands-on workshop that prepares first responders for emergency situations, such as barn fires and trailer roll-overs involving horses or other large animals.
Through a partnership with Ontario Equine Education Employment Program, Equine Guelph currently delivers a free six-week training program to help those looking to start a career in the horse industry.
Horse owners can take advantage of interactive FREE horse healthcare tools, including: 16 point Horse Health Check, Barn Fire Prevention, Biosecurity Risk Calculator, Colic Risk Rater, Horse Blanketing, Journey Through the Joints, Lameness Lab (complete with video challenge), Mare & Foal Care, Senior Horse Challenge, Vaccination Equi-Planner, Equine Welfare Code Decoder and many information sheets.
